Inviting workshop proposals for EcoFarm 2022!

We welcome workshop and speaker proposals to be considered for the 42nd EcoFarm Conference, January 19-22, 2022. Proposals are due Thursday, June 17, 2021.

Proposal guidelines

The educational content that EcoFarm Conference presents is crowdsourced – generated by the community. That means that whether you're a farmer, rancher, distributor, retailer, consumer, industry rep, consultant, activist, student, educator, or simply a lover of food and farms, we want to hear from you!

Approximately half of our conference workshops are dedicated to technical farming or ranching topics (anything from the latest in soil management, livestock, pests and beneficials to business, equipment, and ecological farming systems). True to our farmer-to-farmer approach, we make an effort to feature a farmer or rancher in every workshop if possible. The remaining half of our content is dedicated to community, nutrition, food, environmental and food justice, policy, gardening, history, and big picture topics because those are integrally connected to building a world where farmers, ranchers, and all tenders of land can thrive.

Throughout our content, we are committed to better serve Black, California Indigenous, Latinx, Asian American, and all folks of color as well as members of the LGBTTQAI+ community and those with different abilities who are farmers, ranchers, or involved in any aspect of the food and farming ecosystem.

We seek to create an inclusive space for the Latinx food and farming community to access resources, learning and networking opportunities in Spanish, including programming for Spanish speaking monolingual farmers. These identities face added barriers every day to do their work and workshop proposals that serve or represent these communities will be given priority.

Conference Goals

Through shared knowledge, resources, and education, EcoFarm Conference offers relationship building and connection – with a goal to nurture a collective movement for a healthy and thriving future in food and farming.

Selection Process & Timeline

Workshop and speaker proposals will be collected through June 17, 2021 and selected by vote of EcoFarm’s Planning Committee by late July, 2021. The EcoFarm Planning Committee is a grassroots group of volunteers who are farmers, ranchers, educators, industry representatives, activists, and farmer advocates. We will email you if your workshop was selected, by late August, 2021. Next year's EcoFarm Conference will be held January 19-22, 2022. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Gabi at conference@eco-farm.org
