EcoFarm Planning Committee

The Ecological Farming Association provides a grassroots, open forum for planning each year's EcoFarm Conference. EcoFarm's Planning Committee is an instrumental group of volunteers that help to select and shape conference keynotes and workshops. Members include farmers, ranchers, beekeepers, certifiers, produce distributors, activists, educators, seed keepers, permaculturists, and farm advisors, and others.

The Planning Committee meets three times every year to review the previous conference, select Keynotes, and select Workshops. Members organize and moderate most EcoFarm workshops and often contribute to the conference in additional ways. The public is invited to submit workshop proposals each year. After the workshop proposal deadline in June, EcoFarm staff compile up to 500 proposals that are presented to EcoFarm's Planning Committee. After several weeks to study these proposals the committee meets in July to select 70 workshops to present at conference. By August, EcoFarm staff notify all those who proposed workshops on whether they were selected, and Planning Committee members begin to organize the sessions.
