About our prize winners...
Baby Dean, Next Gen environmental protector, is the grandson of Patricia Larenas, the founder of Urban Artichoke where she writes about seeds, growing edibles, and responsible, earth-friendly garden design. Originally from Chile, Patricia lives in California where she specializes in replacing lawns with water-wise, earth-friendly designs, and edible gardens. A passionate seed keeper, Patricia believes that individuals have an important role in enabling seed diversity. As a big fan of EcoFarm's mission, you may see her at the next EcoFarm Conference, where she attends as often as she can!
Ellen Cavalli is co-owner of Tilted Shed Ciderworks, a Sonoma County family growing cider apples and making cider from 100% local apples in the midst of wine country. Committed to organic farming, biodiversity, local agriculture, and environmental and social justice, Tilted Shed's goal is to put Sonoma County on the map as a world-class cider region, while doing its part to preserve and strengthen their ecosystem and community. Look for Ellen at the next EcoFarm Conference where you can taste her amazing ciders at our annual Wine & Cider Tasting!
